Meditation Shapes for Gems is a printable activity to support children in calming down in a meditation activity. Print out the shapes and laminate them. Place them on a try with a basket of gems in the peace or meditation area of the classroom or home. Demonstrate how to place gems along the line of the shape until the entire shape has been filled. The gems should be added one at a time. Then, show the child the proper way to carefully take the gems off one at a time and place them back into the basket. This work should be a focused quiet job that allows the child to be present and practice mindfulness.
